Advertising Sox Tickets?

Today, as I was reading about Mike Lowell and JD Drew’s grand slams yesterday and I came across this ad. It struck me as odd, becuase, well, do we really need to advertise Red Sox tickets? Is there someone out there who needs to be reminded that they like the Red Sox? So of course, I clicked through to the Sox ticket page and schedule. They actually do have tickets for the next series on sale right now (first week of June against the Rays of Sunshine).

Maybe this is a step in the right direction - the Sox are releasing tickets throughout the year (as always) but are finally advertising it. I suppose if ticket scalpers are going to be all over the internet selling tickets, the team should be too!

I wonder if the Royals and the Rays advertise on the MLB site? Am I just seeing Red Sox becuase they tracked my IP address to Boston? Perhaps. It would make a lot more sense if this were the case, but I really have no idea.

Remember, its never sold out. You don’t have to pay scalpers, and now the Sox are even advertising the fact that they have tickets at the box office for sale.

Stumble it!
