JD Drew, Hero of Game 1
Yes, I know JD Drew didn’t play. But seriously, give credit where credit is due. JD Drew not playing pretty much made the game. Mr. Brandon Moss, the guy who is probably hoping for a Coco Crisp trade more than anyone else right now, was the hero of today’s (or was it technically yesterday’s?) game.

The Japanese sure got what they wanted in this contest as well. What more could you hope for if you are a Japanese Red Sox fan? They got to see a close game, started by their hero Daisuke Matsuzaka, a 9th inning comeback ($5 says the Oakland papers will read “Huston, we have a problem” tomorrow morning), the second most popular guy in the park today Hideki Okajima and of course, Jonathan Papelbon. I imagine the A’s are probably at least a little bit annoyed that he still got his entrance music even though they are the ones sacrificing a home game. But the “home team” was pretty much just abotu who got to bat first and last anyway - for all other intents and purposes, the Sox were clearly at home. We have the two Japanese players, are the Champions, and owned the 8th inning with Sweet Caroline blasting.
A couple other side notes: Why do they play the Jetsons theme song for every foul ball? And No, Kurt Suzuki isn’t Japanese, he was born in Hawaii and was raised in California.
Undefeated Red Sox - sounds good! See you all tomorrow at 6:00 am.
