Yes, You Can Get Red Sox Tickets

Everyone always asks me how it is that I manage to get tickets to go to so many Red Sox games. “I thought they were all sold out” they always ask. Well, yes, they are sold out once the game starts, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t sold out today. You may not be able to buy them this minute, but they aren’t sold out.

There are several different times that tickets end up going on sale for each game, different packages you can buy, lotteries you can enter, and of course, the actual ticket drops. You can attend many, many games and literally get 100s of tickets to Red Sox games all from the club while breaking no rules about buying too many or being branded a “scalper.”

This pile of tickets could easily be yours, as long as you are patient and smart about getting tickets and have the passion to go through all the steps.

Let’s take a look at the schedule as far as when these tickets were purchased. It helps to have a few friends to split stuff with so you get more virtual waiting rooms going and more lottery entries, but honestly, its not that hard to do it yourself.

First chance for tickets comes in December when the 4 packs go on sale. Get your virtual waiting rooms open and get in early. You can buy up to two 4 packs with 4 tickets each. Thats 16 right there.

Next, there is the general on sale that comes a bit later. Rules for that on sale are 8 total tickets, which means you’ll probably want 4 games with 2 tickets each. Thats 12 games and 24 tickets total.

Then, the lotteries. There are actually 6 lotteries you can win, as they have 3 drawings and 3 second chances. So this can’t be guaranteed, of course, but if you enter all of your email addresses, you can probably win at least one. And if you are splitting your tickets with some friends, at least one of you will probably win. You get to buy 4 tickets to a game when you win a lottery. Now we are at 13 games and 28 tickets.

There are going to be at least 2 Red Sox nation only on sales this year - the new seats in left field and the Conigliaro’s corner. 2 more games, with 4 tickets each. Now we’re up to 15 games and 36 tickets. If you buy the Red Sox nation package that guarantees you 2 tickets, that is an additional game. 16 games, 38 tickets.

This doesn’t even start to mention the phone sales, online on-sales that happen throughout the year, etc. Plus, the limits on tickets are per day, so if you got some tickets during the general on sale, you could have called the box office the next day and bought the left overs, singles and standing room. I will count another 8 tickets and 4 games here.

So there you have it. Don’t listen to anyone who says you can’t get tickets. If you are obsessive enough, you’ll get all the tickets you want. How many of you really want to go to more than 18 games and spend the money on more than 46 tickets?

Trust me when I say, that this pile of tickets could easily be yours.

Stumble it!

Also too remember the Scalp free option near Gate D(?). If a subpar team is in town on a weekday like the A’s, Tampa, etc……it’s easy pickings to get good seats for below face from season ticket holders. I got 80 seats for half off TWICE this way with my cuz last year.
