Is it just me, or did Jon Lester look like he was one of the secret service agents at this thing? My first impression was that he was going to fight off a bunch of guys in dark suits Jason Bourne style.
But really this was all about Bush. I know it was meant as a joke, but honestly, how great was it to hear him equate his ability to answer questions in English with that of “Dice K”? I laughed. Not so much when he mentions that Manny’s grandmother died again…
The best quote, however, is when he was talking about Josh Beckett. Bush’s exact words were:
“He’s umm, he’s a big game pitcher. He struck out, umm, 9 strikeouts a game in the playoffs. I appreciate very much that he, uh, works hard, throws hard and is a proven winner.”
Yeah, that sounds sincere. and he’s good enough, and smart enough, and gosh darnit Mr. President, people like him.
