World Series Champions

It feels great to write that. After a long season (and a short World Series… again) the Sox are the best. Missing the playoffs last year (the famous 1 step back to take 2 steps forward) proved true. J.D. Drew came through, and we weren’t JD Screwed after all. Even Julio Lugo hit well when it counted, and came through on the defensive end.

Yes, everything worked out in the end and Theo Epstein is once again the God of Boston. Countless people called in to radio shows talking about all the mistakes the team has made, and we were even lining up to jump off the Tobin Bridge at one point. But alas, this ownership group has now brought us 2 World Series victories in the last 4 years. In case you didn’t notice, this is just as good, if not better, as the Patriots have done. There is even talk of a Red Sox dynasty brewing now, which isn’t too far off considering we had 4 rookies contributing in big ways in the series (Ellsbury, Pedroia, Dasike and Okajima).

Yes, this is the man that ultimately made us all happy. Thank god he went long in Soy Bean futures back in the day and thank god even more that he listened to his wife when she told him it was time to bank the profits and sell. One thing led to another, and here is John Henry himself, victory cigar in hand standing on a baseball field in a random midwest city with a World Series trophy.

Thanks John, thanks to the players, and thanks to the Red Sox organization as a whole for bringing yet another championship trophy to Boston! And a special thanks to the 4,613 people who visited our site during the season!

Stumble it!
