The Red Sox may get their chance to tee of on Mike Mussina this week after all. They Yankees announced yesterday that he will be demoted to the bullpen so he can “figure out his problems.” I don’t really get it though, he doesn’t need to be in a bullpen to realize that he is old and washed up. Looks like its Junk Time for the Moose from here on out. If the Yankees do make it in to the playoffs, I am seriously doubting he would even make the roster. He’s only given up 19 earned runs in the past 3 games (only 9.2 IP). That’s a 17.64 ERA for those of you who are counting. Its also exactly 17.64 higher than Tim Wakefield’s ERA in the last 3 starts, our old guy pitcher.
Ian Kennedy should be making his debut over the weekend, bring the total number of pitchers who have started games for the Yankees this year up to, what, like 20 now? Either way, its a lot.
