46 Runs in 50 Hours

Bring on the Yankees! The Red Sox absolutely destroyed the White Sox this weekend in Chicago, scoring nearly a run per hour from the start of the game Friday until the end of this afternoon’s contest. Not only was the offense on fire, but the pitching was unreal as well. All 4 starters won their respective games (Beckett’s 16th, Schilling’s 8th, Wakefield’s 16th and Tavarez’s 7th) and the bullpen was nearly unhittable.

The pen gave up only 2 earned runs in the series (coming on a home run against Snyder). That is good for a 1.53 ERA in 11.1 IP. They struck out 11 while walking only 3. They pitched more innings than hits allowed (11.1 IP vs. 8 hits in 4 games).

Keep in mind that the entire 4 game series was played within a 50 hour period! The first game Friday started at 2:00 and the game Sunday ended around 6:00. Not bad for this group of guys. I’d say that every member of the team is primed and ready for this Yankees showdown.

Stumble it!
