I really don’t think the Red Sox helped their cause much by heading right out on the field, gloves in hand, even though JD Drew’s drive off the wall was clearly a home run.

If the umpires are going to convene like this, how can the NOT get it right? All 4 umpires really missed the call? I find that hard to believe.

Thankfully, Julio Lugo came to play (his being safe on the bunt attempt had to have been a make up call, right?) and had 3 hits including the monster grand slam that bounced off the Sports Authority sign.

So in the end, the missed call didn’t matter, but it still was just that, a missed call.
