Josh Beckett - to the Rescue?
Josh Beckett is taking the mound tonight, hoping to bring the Red Sox a much needed win after losing 3 of their last 4. He has lost 2 out of his last 3 games, though that is a bit misleading since the last start was one of his best on the year (8 IP, 2 ER). He’s also facing the White Sox, who have one of the worst offenses in baseball, even if Paul Konerko is finally coming around.
Luckily the Yankees lost yesterday as well, so the lead remains 7 games, but this is a huge game today. I will no accept a loss becuase there is now way the Red Sox should leave town on this home stand without winning a single series!
In other news, Dustin Pedroia now leads the Red Sox in batting average. That’s right, our most consistent hitter is a rookie. This means he is also the lowest paid player on the team, coming in at $380,000.
