Yes, Julio Lugo is on Drugs.

I was going to comment this on the last thread, but I think it deserves its own.

The worst part is we are stuck with this guy for 3 more years. I think the real question is if Theo Epstein and the front office crew were on drugs when they signed this guy. Lugo played his entire career so he could get that one big contract - and now that he has cashed in, he is failing miserably. I call it Yankee Syndrome.

His quote: “Just going through a slump. Everybody goes through it, you know. Nothing I can do. I just, right now I just, I’ve not been lucky that’s all.” See guys, nothing to worry about, just bad luck. Talk about not taking responsibility that something is wrong.

But hindsight is 20/20 they say, so who could have seen this coming? Well, Dodgers fans for one. Lugo was hurt for the start of last year, had a couple good months with Tampa (May and June) and then got traded and failed miserably the second half of the year with LA. His stats in the NL: .219, 32 hits, and 29 strikeouts. But he hits for power in the gaps, right? Decide for yourself - in 146 at bats, he hit 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 0 home runs.

And we couldn’t see this coming?

Stumble it!
