Is Julio Lugo on Drugs?
Not to spread the negativity, but what the heck is up with Julio Lugo? Not only has his performance been lacking as of lately, but he would also appear brain dead. Did he really feel invincible with his little charade advancing to third? The disgust on Francona’s face when Lugo was tagged out said more than enough. He blew the only thing he really had going for him, his base running abilities. Sure he’s quick, but we have no confidence in his decision making abilities.
Looks like the time off, and practice with hitting coach Dave Magadan didn’t clear this fellows mind. “In my opinion, sitting a guy for a day or two is not giving up on him,” Terry Francona said.
Is it just me or is this guys mind focused on popping qualudes with Keith Richards instead of baseball?

He’s no doubt been shooting smack before the games or something. I was thinking the same thing.

I think you guys are being kinda rough on him given the situation. He’s under an immense amount of pressure, and he’s probably having difficulty blocking things out and focusing.

Rough on him? Unable to focus under pressure? He’s a major league baseball player. He makes ass-tons of money to play the game, and play it well. That is the job he signed up for.

Have you all lost your minds? Since when has an individual players poor performance led to illicit drug use accusations? How are the two even related? I think the guy is just sucking lately. He’s not using any drugs or anything, and it’s immature of you to write that.
