The Yankees Lose

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Roger Clemens couldn’t win his 350th… again. Lead is back to 10.5 after the Yankees are swept by the Rockies. The world has balance once again.
Also of note, don’t forget that RedSoxSuperFan.com hosts Steve Hofstetter’s Sports Minute. Give it a read, Red Sox or not, its hilarious.

Schilling, Beckett and Lester

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Guess which 2 of these guys will be pitching on the upcoming road trip? Hint - it ain’t going to be Schilling.
After his MRI “checked out OK,” he got a cortisone shot and the Red Sox announced today that he is headed to the DL. Surprise surprise - looks like my post yesterday [...]

The “Who Wants to be Me” Contest

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

The Boston Globe/Boston.com is currently running a contest. They are looking for big Red Sox fans and whoever wins the contest is going to be crowned the Sox Super Fan. Hello! We’ve already established that on this site. I am the Super Fan - I bought the domain name and everything.
I [...]

Schilling’s MRI or How I Blew My Arm Out Trying to Throw a No-Hitter

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Curt Schilling sucked enough last night to get sent home and have his arm checked out. Multiple sources, including the Sox staff and Chipper Jones, pointed out that Schill never quite hit 90 on the radar gun, and that this was a potential sign of an injury.
So he’s being sent home for an MRI. [...]

Josh Beckett - Then and Now

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Josh Beckett is having a huge year thus far. Even after his rough outing last time against Colorado, he still has a 3.39 ERA to go along with his 9 wins. He’s stuck out 68 already and has only given up 5 home runs, which was clearly his trouble area last year. [...]

Barry Big Head Can’t Help the Giants Avoid the Sweep

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Not even Barry Bonds’ gigantic head and home run off of Tim Wakefield could lift the Giants over the Sox. Wakefield finally got a good amount of run support from the Red Sox in order to beat Matt Morris on Father’s Day. This, of course, completed the sweep of the lowly Giants who [...]

Daisuke Matsuzaka Photo Gallery - 1-0 Win

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Daisuke Looked great today, giving up exactly zero runs in 7 innings, and the 8th and 9th worked perfectly with Okajima and Papelbon finishing it off. It was perfect weather, a great pitcher’s duel with the only run coming on a shot into the monster seats from Manny Ramirez. Dad and I couldn’t [...]

Papelbon Comes in and Shuts it Down

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

From row 23 of the bleachers, we can see Papelbon make his grand entrance and then, of course, the final pitch and out to preserve the shut out and give Daisuke his 1-0 win.
Papelbon enters the game before the 9th inning

And finishes the game, getting the save

Behind The Gold Glove

Friday, June 15th, 2007

There is always a lot of talk about players being Gold Glove winners. We all know that this means they are good defensive players, but what is the Gold Glove, really? I mean, Mike Lowell is a supposed gold glover but he’s made 12 errors already this year.
Well, the name of the Award [...]

Guess Who’s Coming to Fenway?

Friday, June 15th, 2007

I could care less about the Bonds saga. I am a huge baseball fan. I know that according to other fans I should dislike Bonds because of his steroids link, but I just don’t. I personally feel we can’t indemnify a man who did what MANY others did, especially when we don’t have any [...]
