Sunday Baseball

Did you know that baseball wasn’t played at Fenway Park on Sundays until 1932? A law on the books prohibited play if a church was withing 1,000 feet of the ballpark. Fenway was about 900 feet from the Church of Redemption, located in the Fens area. In 1932, the law was changed to state that the Sox could play as long as they weren’t withing 700 feet of the church, thus making the first Sunday games possible.
