Welcome to Conigliaro’s Corner. For $30, This View Could Be Yours!
With your $30 ticket you’ll get a spacious 6in x 12in section of beautiful aluminum bench that’s aligned perfectly with right-center field - optimal for viewing….well, right-center field. You can see the plate, but only if you maneuver your view between patrons (in my case the guy with the goofy blue hat), around the speaker stanchions, through the chain link fence that surrounds the “Corner” and have neck like Gumby that can rotate 90 degrees to the left for 2 hours at a time. There were vending stands close by, though you could go down three flights of stairs, up two, then back down another to get to one. Not to mention the 10 minute accent to the roof-deck to begin with. All for this view…no wonder why we left for standing room in the 5th inning. Conigliaro, I’m sure you were a decent guy, but your “Corner” is terrible. Maybe take a second look at what you’re attaching your name to.
Maybe they named it after him becuase you can see Revere, where he was from, nearly as well as as you can see home plate. At least we know we won’t get hit in the eye by any baseballs while sitting up here. I mean, with most upper decks (say Philly or Minnesota) you are at least facing the infield - not a chain link fence.
But anyway, if you have these seats, don’t expect too much. I’d tell you to sell them or give them away, but you can’t becuase you aren’t allowed to get your tickets until 2 hours before game time. In my mind, from now on, Conigliaro’s Corner is synonymous with standing room only.
