The $195 million Last Place Team
Mariano Rivera sucks this year. HAHA. The Red Sox are kicking ass and I love it. Derek Jeter was quoted as saying “This is when you find out how good a team is.” Derek, we know how good your team is. It’s the same story - plenty of offense and no pitchers to record any outs. Any Pettite couldn’t even get out of the 5th inning (not that anyone else on their staff can…)
The Red Sox, on the other hand, are on a roll. Today, they are back in the Bronx, and Yankee killer Tim Wakefield is taking the mound. Some guy named Karstens is pitching for the Yankees. If I had to handicap this one, I’d be calling for a lot of home runs today. ARod will probably go deep twice and make a key error that continues an inning, and then we’ll see Manny finish it off. Or something like that. Either way, Manny is long overdue to get out of this slump. He needs to pay attention and focus. I know he does this every April, but usually there is more production to be found than there is now. Its looking more and more like Manny may just have an ‘OK’ season, hitting .285 with only 32 HR and 96 RBI. Not that those totals would really be that bad. He’ll have a few big games before the season ends and we’ll all love him.
Game starts at 4 today, which means Tim McCarver. Looks like I’ll be watching the game with the mute button on.
