Hate Mail From Yankee Fans
What an historic day it is! RedSoxSuperFan.com has proven itself a legitimate fan site with its first all out hate email from a Yankee fan! I am personally, very proud.
First, here is the message, completely unabridged and full of spelling and grammar errors. Note that a return email address was not provided - draw your own conclusions from that.
Name: Bo
E-Mail:
Message: all you red sox fans are retarded i love how you bash the yankees. i know it sucks that in the past 90 years you only won 1 count them 1 world series championships. thats kind of sad dont you think. I feel bad for all the red sox fans that have to hate the yankees to feel good about themselves. I have a question for all you red sox fans that hate the yankees why do you hate them? do you hate them because they are better than you, because they have more class than you or is it that your jealous of our great players or yankees fans.
I’d like to address Bo’s questions one at a time if I may. (Side note - who identifies themselves as just ‘Bo’ - maybe its Bo Jackson. Was he a Yankee fan?)
- all you red sox fans are retarded
No, we aren’t. Red Sox fans are actually some of the brightest, well informed baseball fans out there. It is pretty much common knowledge that St. Louis fans and Boston fans are the smartest (baseball-wise at least) fans around. Yankees fans are notoriously dumb, for example, Tim McCarver and the girl I sat next to the last time I was at Yankee Stadium with the Jeter shirt on who kept yelling “I love number 2.” - i love how you bash the yankees
Is this becuase you think you’re better than everyone so you just laugh it off? This statement contradicts the rest of what you say dear Bo. - i know it sucks that in the past 90 years you only won 1 count them 1 world series championships. thats kind of sad dont you think.
Yes, it is sad. A lot of this can be linked to the Red Sox being the last team to break the color barrier, at least in the 50s and 60s teams. There have been lots of bad moves made by the organization aside from Babe Ruth even though we focus on him. So yes, the Red Sox were a feeble organization for many years, and yes, the Yankees have had some great runs, right up to 2000 when they had a World Series winning dynasty that was pretty much entirely home-grown.
But using what happened 90 years ago (or even 10 years ago) is really beside the point when we’re talking about the Yankees vs. Red Sox today. The Yankees have become the new feeble organization who fails to adopt the trends in baseball that are making teams successful. This includes the ‘Money Ball’ theories of market inefficiencies (and its the Yankees who are creating a lot of these), growing your own talent rather than paying for proven players, and playing a style of baseball that is focused on pitching and defense rather than batting average and RBIs. - I feel bad for all the red sox fans that have to hate the yankees to feel good about themselves.
So do I, but there aren’t many that literally hate the Yankees to feel good about ourselves. This is a classic bully attitude, one that I think relates more to Yankees fans than Sox fans. It’s the Yankees fans who are clinging to their rusty championship rings from 1927 to feel good about their team. Yes, of course its true that you won the most championships. But by this rationale, the Celtics are the best team in the NBA this year. Nuff said. - I have a question for all you red sox fans that hate the yankees why do you hate them? do you hate them because they are better than you, because they have more class than you or is it that your jealous of our great players or yankees fans.
You mean we are jealous of this dork?

Nobody hates the Yankees because they have more class becuase that simply isn’t true. What is class anyway? Wearing pinstripes and making people shave isn’t default ‘class’ - curtain calls in the second inning isn’t class - Derek Jeter trying to sell calls with his ass isn’t classy. Was ARod showing his Yankee class against Bronson Arroyo? The Yankees should all have one class though - a class about how to run a baseball team and not need to call up Phil Hughs in April after you went on record saying it would never happen, would be bad for him and may ruin his career.
Nobody is jealous of any Yankee players, except maybe ARod, but this has nothing to do with the Sox. Every fan of baseball wishes the best player was on their team. We’re not jealous of Johnny Damon (currently hitting .250 with only 4 extra base hits) or Mariano Rivera (no saves, 7.11 ERA) or Bobby Abreu (6 Ks vs. Sox over the weekend). We’re not jealous of Will Nieves, Scott Proctor, Colter Bean, Kei Igawa, Josh Phelps, Kyle Farnsworth, Mike Myers or any of the other scrubs you’re running out there every day.
So in conclusion, get off your high horses Yankee fans. Its time to realize that the Yankees won with talent and with the farm system they developed during their losing mid-90s years. That talent is all but gone now (Rivera and Jeter are all that is left) and you’ve tried ever since to win a championship by outbidding everyone else. What you fans don’t realize is that just because your players are famous and experienced, doesn’t mean they are better. ARod is the only player the Sox would want from your roster right now, and even then, I doubt they’d pay full value. Mr. April looks good now, but still has that 1-14 playoff stat line from last year looming over his head. I’ll let you know how much he is worth next November.
Thanks for the hate mail though - I hope I’ve done a good job answering all of your questions!

Nice job! That should put the loser in his place.
I guess it sucks to be in last place!
