I Don’t Want Him Here: A Diatribe
So, about this whole Roger Clemens “will he, won’t he” thing. It’s taking up precious space in my sports section, and I’d like to move on. I know that I’m in the minority here, but I don’t want him here–has everyone forgotten his last season in Beantown? I REALLY don’t care if he plays somewhere else or not at all. If he plays for the Yankees, he might just shut us down a few times, but then the postseason will happen, and we’ve all seen the Rocket in the postseason. Ehh. And the Astros? Please. Have you seen their roster for this year?
I don’t want “The Rocket” back in Boston. I’m sick of reading about Roger the high maintenance drama queen who wants to pitch half a season and get paid like he won the lottery.
There are a few things I’d love to read about. I want Schilling to have a great season and get another fat Red Sox contract when it’s over. I want to see Beckett restored to his former self. I want to see Lester better and stronger than ever and Papelbon as clutch as ever. I want to see Hansen and Delcarmen as the budding aces we know they can be. I’d like to see Clement healthy and winning games. And I’d really like to stop reading about Clemens.

I have to admit I would like to see him back, but I am with you on having had enough of reading about the possibility!
What annoys me is it appears he is going to wait before committing which is basically holding three teams hostage, the Stros, Sox and Wankees. He should just commit now and let everyone move on.
