Mrs. Matsuzaka
Matsuzaka found himself in the midst of a national scandal when he first starting dating his now wife, Tomoyo Shibata. She became a very famous, well-known newscaster for the national network, Nippon TV. When she began dating Daisuke in 2000, he was just 19 years old, and becuase of their age difference (she is 5 years older), this was frowned upon and had to be kept a secret. Secret that is, until Daisuke’s car was towed from where it was parked illegally - right in front of her building! Word of their relationship got out, and this brought great shame to his team, the Seibu Lions. He was even suspended for a few games because of the incident.
It is also important to note that while she was still on TV, because of her larger than average chest, she earned the nickname of ‘Rocketru’ - which translates to Rockets in English.
She is not longer on the news (since they will now live here) and serves her husband as a housewife and mother. Maybe we’ll see her on the NESN pre-game show a la Michelle Damon, though somehow I doubt that will happen.
