Today in 1933

Yawkey Way wouldn’t mean anything to Red Sox fans, and the curse may have never happened, and of course been broken, if it were not for a Mr. Tom Yawkey buying the team on this day in February 1933. He paid an (at the time) huge sum of $1,500,000. No matter what anyway can say, Tom and Jean owned the Red Sox for much longer than anyone else ever did and deserve credit for defining much of what the team is today.

Stumble it!

Thank you for buying the team and for selling the team to owners who know something about baseball, kept Fenway and improved it, are very fan friendly and MOST OF ALL made my dreams come true in 2004!

There were no curses only a bad front office!
